Five Ways To Live Longer And Have Fun
Five Ways To Live Longer And Have Fun
In today’s society people are constantly on the go. Hustle and bustle is a common phrase used. Let’s face it humanity is on the instant fix and we forget about the future. Health and Wellness are becoming much more a target for today’s consumers and people are becoming more interested in caring for themselves and living longer. There are so many wonderful resources out there that can aid you and guide you in a multitude of directions. From how to think positive, to how to get the best abs you can by rocking back and forth. We all know it. But living longer in my opinion can be broken down into a few simple steps. Here I listed five, and I am sure the list could grow. Actually I encourage comments and I am excited to hear other opinions as to what they think they can do to live longer. Here are my five ways we can live longer and have much more fun doing it :
Practice Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an ancient art that has gained much more popularity. It is a slow movement focused on breath and the balance of one’s self. Tai Chi is a great way to help alleviate stress caused from day to day rigors. It is a great way to prolong life and help aid in the fight against illness. And Tai Chi is an amazing way to help ground an individual thus opening up a door to immense possibilities.
For many, many, years the art of Qigong, commonly known as Tai Chi, has been studied and practiced throughout many Shaolin Temples and across many walks of life. There are several styles of Tai Chi but, they all have the same common denominator. Tai Chi is also an integral part of Chinese medicine and acupuncture.
Practicing Tai Chi on a daily basis is a great way to prolong life. It is such a slow and relaxed form of martial arts that all walks of life can participate. From infants to the elderly. Even those that are disabled. Don’t believe me, well try it for yourself. After all that’s what Buddha said.
Spend Time With Loved Ones
How long has it been since you have seen your parents? Your aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, nieces, nephews? How long has it been since you actually sat down for a nice meal with your family and just laughed and shared in the unconditional love. For some of you reading this it might have been a while. For others it might have been just minutes prior. I can’t stress enough how important it is to share time with your loved ones.
Sharing time with the people you care about not only helps you it helps others. They say that laughter is the best medicine. These simple moments in life are what people hold onto. Try to make the most of them. Don’t use the holiday’s as an excuse for company, call them over for a random dinner party. Go out to a movie, even ordering Chinese really means a lot to some people.
Let Go of Negative Emotions
Negative emotions are the most destructive emotions we hold. They come quickly and easily and leave there mark for a long time.Letting go over negative emotions is not easy. It is a complete change of the way one thinks. Positive emotions take time. For example it is really easy to hate someone. But to love someone it takes time. It is real easy to curse some one for something they have done wrong. But it is much more of a challenge to work together peacefully to find a solution.
Holding on to negative emotions does you no good. It causes harmful stress that can destroy you internally. It causes you to think irrationally. Negative emotions need to be locked in a box and thrown away. Understanding your emotions is something very important as well. Learning how to differentiate between positive and negative is something we all need to brush up on. But for now, the next time someone/thing makes you angry just kill them with a smile!
Exercise and Eat Right
Exercising and eating right are common sense. It shouldn’t be something that has to really be told but, for some people they just don’t know. Or pretend not to know. Exercising is very integral to one’s daily routine. And when I say exercising I don’t mean becoming a world champion bodybuilder and competing for the Mr/Mrs Universe title. I mean some sort of daily physical activity. Walk, run, jog, bike ride, heck if you want to lift weights lift weights. If your into swimming, then swim. Just do something to become active.
Now I know that alot of what I have already said may be a little far fetched. After all how could you possibly pack all of that into your all ready busy lifestyle. I mean your so tired after work you just want to eat the fastest meal you can find a plop down in front of the couch and watch what ever is on the television until you go to bed. After all you have done it for years and it seems to work. Right? Wrong. Eating is just as important as exercise. And this all ties together. Eating the right foods supplies your body with the nutrients and the energy that you need. Just eating right for a whole month will change not only the way you feel but the way you look.
Nutrition may seem like a challenge but it’s not. Eating right means eating healthy meals you prepare for yourself. Not packaged pre-processed foods. In a sense it is dieting, but not in the terms your used to. You are feeding your body what it needs to sufficiently run. Think of your body as a car and food is gas. The lower the octane level the less spark, the higher the octane level the bigger the spark. Catch my drift.
Get a Pet
Now what is left you might ask? Your practicing Tai Chi, your spending time with your loved ones, you have let go of your negative emotions and are overall happy and excited about life, your exercising and eating right. Things seem to working out but your still looking for more. Well, why not get a pet. Yeah, I said it. Get a pet, a dog, a cat, a bird, a fish, a tiger, a whale, whatever. Owning a pet brings some more responsibility in your life that you may think could be daunting. But it’s like having a child. You have to care for it and nurture it. A pet will always be there for your and a pet will always show you unconditional love. No matter what.
Life is a lot simpler than we as humans make it out to be but, because of all the things that go on and influence us times tend to be challenging. There was once a time when people didn’t have cars, and didn’t have all the fancy things we had today. But, the one thing we still had in common was the quest for happiness. Our lives should not be spent chasing after happiness, we can achieve it easily and effortlessly. Taking simple steps to help us spiritually and mentally really can help advance ourselves and help us to live a longer and happier life.
The choices are yours. But, they are rather simple. Happiness and longevity of life starts from within.
