Sometimes you have to stop for directions. In order to get somewhere you have never been you might want to think about asking on how to get there. Seems to make sense. Why would you want to wander around aimlessly until you found a soft place to land. In essence it is really important to have a plan and direction on where you want your business and ideas to go. Winning has such an emotional impact on us, does it not? What is the emotional cost to your performance when the need to win dominates your attention? It’s great to build a winner’s mindset however, it can be damaging to obsess about winning. A lot of players need to win for egotistical reasons and for feelings of self worth. This is potentially very damaging even if it does propel them to victory. Have you ever really thought about the intricacies of winning? Not just the big paychecks and adoration of the fans. Winning takes work. In order to be considered a professional at any level you must train day in and day out. Man, it just whizzed by. This weekend was a blur. A lot has changed since the beginning of our adventure. Life has really gotten interesting. In the last 3 months I was on a plane 3 times (rather unusual for myself). We have been on the road a lot. This weekend was no exception. What a really cool experience. It all started off with a drive south on I-95. Miami was the destination. Friday night we were determined to set up shop and sell out. A group of our friends at Sillyfarm set up a body painting booth at the IC Body Glow event in the Art District of Miami. We were invited to join them and set up shop next to them. By far a good move. You see we knew nothing about the event. Didn’t know too much about how it was run or what was going on but we knew we were going. We get there and man the place looks a little suspect. It was in a humongous warehouse. Talk about a odd little set up. We pulled into a gate. Everything was dark and people were buzzing about. Leave it to Steve to pull this one off but he convinced security to let us pull the truck into the warehouse. We get the truck straight and hop out. Couple minutes later we were shuffling past some curtains into and richly decorated environment. The lighting and sound set-up was killer. House music for days. The manager of this operation called the staff for a meeting while we set up shop. He informed all of us to get our passes. Next thing you know half naked chicks are standing next to me getting painted with glow in the dark body paint. Who could complain to about that. The party was hopping. It was a damn shame it got shut down early.

The next few hours led us on a wild drive looking for a darn hotel to pass out in. Cellphone call after cellphone call until we found a some what not so shady hotel to park the truck and trailer at. Now let me tell you if you need a hotel and its 4 a.m. pass out in your vehicle until 6 a.m. so you can have it for the next day and not have to check out at 11 a.m. However the night did take us on a foot adventure for honey buns and cigars. Lol.

Miami Beach is always a pleasure and it’s even more fun if you zip through it on foot. My biz partner, myself, and a buddy from college all hit the streets doing some promo work in SoBe. I would say rather effective. Meet a lot of cool people. Stopped by some stores and boutiques. Got some contacts. Not bad for a days worth of fun.

Our evening was topped off with a performance by our newly found friend And Then There Was You. We just set out to sponsor them on tour and were able to see them perform live this weekend. We were super stoked. Man do they rock. Their stage presence is unbelievable. Top that off with great music. Nothing but success is in store for these guys. We really had a blast hanging out with them. There music is great and if you haven’t checked them out hit up there page ATTWY. Make sure you check there tour dates they may be coming to a city near you and it is worth the extra effort to see them.

Late night meals are always the best way to say salute to a wild weekend on the road. A hearty meal and a couple more laughs were all she wrote. A quick nap and Eleanor was ready to roll. Back up I-95 with memories of good times and aspirations to make more.
