As I sit here in front of my computer and reflect on the past week I had one question that continuously rattled through my mind. What inspires you? I answered it subtley once before but, part of me felt that the answer was not enough. Something inside of me kept digging for the real truth. I had to know what really inspires me. Many artists can relate. Whether your a digital artist, a traditional artist, or even a musician. You have all been asked this question before. You may have had the answer right away. Or you might have answered like I did and said “Life”. In any event the question was answered. Or was it?
For me it was the latter. I hadn’t thoroughly satisfied my soul. I needed to reflect and dig deep into spirit to find the real meaning of my inspiration. Life was too much of a general statement. Life is so big. There are so many parts to it. How could that even be satisfying for someone asking the question. Sitting on the plane 40,000 feet above the 40,000 feet (if the plane had rockets we would have been in space) I got a glimpse of the world that most people don’t. I got to see how small we really are. For 3 hours on my flight from NY’s JFK to PBI , minus the quick naps here and there , I reflected and observed my own self. Possibly coming up with a satisfactory answer to my pondering thoughts.
Inspiration can come from all over. It can come from a song, a movie, a sound, a piece of grass, a leaf, and so on. But what I think inspiration really comes from is the true connection with ones self and their utmost important desires. When we grow up we forget one important thing and that is to be a kid. If we forget how to be a kid then everything becomes so serious. Have you ever looked at a three year old and watched how they interact through the day. They live in their moment. They don’t worry about how the bills are going to be paid, whats for dinner, hell the really don’t even worry about the grass stain on their jeans. They live in their moment. Our minds clutter with all this worry and we cut out what really becomes important. I read a book a while back called the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Amazing short read. I suggest it to anyone. But you have to have an open mind and turn up the volume on your heart. This book reassured me in my beliefs. Just trust the universe and follow your heart.
With that being said my inspiration comes from my following of my heart. Sure it can also come from the desires in which I bestowed upon myself. Who doesn’t desire? Everyday I imagine driving my C63 AMG, I imagine the private planes, the luxury yachts, I’m not to crazy about big homes but I am in love with the fact of owning multiple homes, I imagine the watches, the clothes, the food, all the perks. I imagine the type of women I will be surrounded with and those with whom are like minded. But all this can be blinding at times. Sometimes desire can get in the way. If you trust your heart and know that it will lead you to the finish line your desires soon get set to the left while your heart heads full speed to the right. Your not forgetting your desires your just following the map of the universe to get to where you want to go.
A few posts back I wrote about why my friend/business partner decided to do this. And the answer was freedom. The mutual inspiration was to be free to do whatever we want. And it is true. Everyday life brings new experiences that spark and idea, better known as inspiration. So many ideas sometimes that it can be overwhelming. However if you just follow your heart and forget about the rest the other things become less important. Soon your path is set. There may be side streets we wander down due to humanities natural curiosity, but there is one road we always know will lead us home. Like I said before Life is my inspiration, however my true inspiration comes from my hearts desire for ultimate freedom and therefore the lack of nonsensical worries.
May your lives be blessed and full of abundance.
Namaste.
